Yesterday, the IRS released the inflation adjusted amounts for health savings accounts and their accompanying high deductible health plans for 2016. Some of the limits changed from the 2015 amounts.
For your reference, here is the quick summary for the 2016 limits:
Annual Contribution Limits:
Self-only HDHP coverage – $3,350
Family HDHP coverage – $6,750
Minimum deductible – $1,300/self-only and $2,600/family
Maximum out-of-pocket – $6,550/self-only and $13,100/family
*Note, the maximum out-of-pocket limits for HDHPs are lower than the announced maximum out-of-pocket limits for non-grandfathered plans.
